While we've all been in lockdown/quarantine/hibernation Instagram and TikTok have been more active than ever. They are making so many updates at the moment and it can be hard to keep up!
One of the most common questions I get asked is:
'Karissa, how do I create Instagram Reels?'
'How do I start TikTok for my business?'
'I want to create Reels for my business but I don't know what to post'
First of all, let's break it down. If you have no idea what TikTok is go and download it now. I first heard rumblings of TikTok in October 2019 as the app started to gain popularity. The app completely took off during the pandemic, and as a result, Instagram launched their rival platform called Instagram Reels. Instagram is now prioritising Reels content over static feed posts so as a business owner it is important that you are creating this type of content.
Now you can post solely to Instagram Reels and you don't have to bother with TikTok at all, but as usual, Instagram does not allow music permissions for business accounts so you will probably not have access to music if you have a business account on Instagram. For this reason, I recommend creating your video in TikTok with the audio you would like to use and then re-uploading it to Instagram Reels.
I just wanted to clear that up before we go any further. In these emails, I will be talking you through how to create different TikTok trends and how to use the app, but for now here are some ideas of TikTok or Reels videos you can create for your small business.

You can use the sounds from these videos and create your own video using that sound on TikTok.
I hope these ideas have sparked some creativity for your business!
If you still need some help creating this type of content, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram @karissadigital and I'll be delighted to help. And let me know if you would like me to share ideas for any other business categories.
Have a great week,
Karissa.
