Your social media success strategy.
If you want to attract and resonate with your target audience on Instagram you need a successful strategy!
A successful social media strategy should incorporate these key elements:
PROFESSIONAL LOGO AND BRANDING
Before putting your social media content plan together you need to have a strong logo and colour palette. Make sure the logo you upload is high quality and not pixelated or blurry. This is a common mistake, especially if you are downloading your logo from a website, and not getting the correct formats from a graphic designer.
Your branding colours should be reflected throughout your page. The text on your Instagram Stories should be posted in your branding colours as well as any poster style images on your feed.
USER-FRIENDLY AND OPTIMISED WEBSITE
There is absolutely no point putting a ton of effort into your Instagram page if you are then directing your followers to a website which is difficult to use or not user friendly. Your website should look professional, reflecting your branding and should be optimised for both desktop and mobile. Check your website speed using Google Page Speed Insights.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY
When commencing work with a client I always ask for them to send me any professional photography or videography they have on file. This gives me an idea of the visual assets we have to work with. If you don't have professional photography this is something you will need to incorporate into your social media marketing budget. Professional images or video far outperform content shot on a phone when it comes to feed posts for brands. You can definitely do a certain amount of high-quality content on your phone, but you need to make sure you are shooting with a high-quality camera and in good lighting.
Once you have ticked the box for these 3 elements you can then start looking at building your Instagram strategy. I will talk in detail about how to plan out your Instagram content in an upcoming email. We'll break this down into 3 key parts:
